I am an Associate Professor (untenured) within the Economics Division at Columbia Business School and an affiliated faculty member within the Department of Economics at Columbia University. I am also a Faculty Research Fellow within the Economic Fluctuations and Growth (EFG) Program of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Research Affiliate at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA).

Previously, I was a Senior Economist within the Research Division and a Visiting Scholar at the Opportunity & Inclusive Growth Institute (OIGI) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, a Research Associate at the Heller-Hurwicz Economics Institute at the University of Minnesota, a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, a daily visitor at the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale University, and a visitor at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF).

My research revolves around topics in macroeconomics, labor economics, and public economics, with a focus on income inequality. I have taught related courses at the graduate (MBA and PhD) and undergraduate levels.

I received a PhD from the Department of Economics at Princeton University.
